CHRIS MUELLER is a musician living and working in New York City. As an ArtsForge Staff member, Chris arranges music, writes original music, and helps proofread text. He is also the driving force behind the first ArtsForge CD release, "What Survives". As an artist, he contributes to the following ArtsForge Projects:

WordForge | MusicForge | Humor
Dreamless | Safe Haven | The Journey
Open All Night | Jazz Etudes | The MIDI Player
The Tower of Babel

In other work, he is currently the rehearsal accompanist for classical baritone Peter Castaldi, the bass soloist in the Choir of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, an adjunct faculty member at NYU and at Hunter College, where he accompanies modern dance classes, a baritone in the Russian Chamber Chorus of New York, a free lance pianist who plays auditions, receptions, and other gigs, and a computer nut who does transcriptions and transpositions for people using the Finale software package. In the past he ran his own vocal jazz ensemble, and some of his vocal jazz arrangements have been published and are available for sale through the University of Northern Colorado Jazz Press. He has also been the pianist and musical director for jazz singer Donna McElroy, with whom he cowrote several songs, and a participant in a few jazz combos over the years, both as a player and as a composer and arranger. He has worked in the theater as a pit musician and as an actor, and he has been quite involved during the past few years with Tobin's new musical, "Creature," variously working as a transcriber, audition and rehearsal pianist, musical director, conductor, and singer. This CD is a testament to Tobin's skills as a composer and melodist and Chris' skills as an arranger and jazz pianist.
