Dam the river of my thoughts and fill my head with straw Make of these eyes cold slabs of granite so that the light of my being is unable to flower again Take this heart that refuses to beat another rhythm and reward my doubt for it's smiling patience Take my faith and grind it into the earth so that no man eats again from this wretched tree of salvation For I am wading into a frigid sea of nothingness alone. |
