Photography is a passionate hobby of mine. I love early morning and evening photography. There is such beauty in the world. I use photos to capture moments and emotions I want to relive.
I’ve included some highlights below. Click on images to view enlargements. Also, please view entire collections by clicking on the category links to the right of each collections' heading.
In order to create the largest possible enlargements, my panoramas are made by stitching together single 8x10 images using Photoshop. That way, photos can be printed anywhere from 4 to 8 feet wide, great for hotel rooms and lobbies.
I have experimented with portraits, trying to create a unqiue style encorporating extreme close-ups and collages. Please check out my new portrait gallery. I am available for hire. For additional portraits, see: Tobin's Portraits Gallery.
On the ocean side of Cape Cod, on a very windy day in September, I captured this moment of piecring blue sky and raging surf. Notice the amount of sand in the waves.
Several times a day while staying at Pilgrim Beach Village (North Truro, Cape Cod MA) we pass through this breezeway on the way to the beach.
I took dozens of photos through the breezeway at various times of day. I also had the good fortune of having a full moon and the planet Venus pass through the opening.
The photos were taken over a 5 day period, October 2005.
One of my favorite places to take photographs is my backyard. It began when my wife asked me to chronicle her gardening, since every season brings a fabulously different rise of color and life.
For additional flower photos, please see: Backyard Gardens.
Many sunsets and wonderful vistas are available in my Cape Cod and Panorama collections.
Lake Winnebago, WI, taken from North Shore Country Club.
Several of these images (and more) are posted in the Panoramas collection, even verticle ones like this.
One of my ongiong projects is to chronicle a year of changes in the little village of Rowayton where I live. There are marvelous New England homes, some dating back to the early 1800s. It is quaint and sweet as a town can be, and only 45 mnutes from Grand Central Station.
I plan on taking many photos in each season. I hope to compile them into a book soon. If you are interested, please email me.
